The kitchen was truly a total loss due to water damage…
The homeowner, faced with an unfortunate situation, decided it was time to update the kitchen along with the repairs, including adjusting the layout to solve multiple pain points in the space. Large pantries are added at each end to solve the lack of storage space, a countertop is added to one side of the kitchen to be used for prep and serving, and the countertop is reduced to give much needed walking space in the kitchen.
While that’s never something we welcome, our clients viewed it as a great opportunity to transform their old space into an updated, functional living and working center.
Crisp contrasting paint colors, bead board, a large bay window (complete with charming seat), and a striking hardwood floor selection were among the special features that help this kitchen balance modern with family warmth. The beamed ceiling was happily intact despite the damage to the room, and brightened with white paint to make the room feel even more spacious.
Thanks to our in-house, multi-service team, NC Home Remodeling was able to coordinate all the details and schedule seamlessly, from plumbing and electrical, to flooring and cabinet installation and more. It’s another example of how even an unfortunate accident can lead to a happy outcome, with the right vision and partner!
